Question 1

Are you approved by the state of California to collect electronics?

Accepted Answer

Urban Electronic Recycling is a CalRecycle-approved collector under California’s Covered Electronic Waste Recycling Program, CEWD #128102. This approval covers e-waste collection; it is not a data-security certification. Physical hard drive destruction is a separate service, documented with Certificates of Destruction. Those records describe the destruction performed and do not guarantee your organization’s legal compliance.

Question 8

Do you offer data destruction services?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Our standard method is physical destruction — we physically shred hard drives and storage media so the data can never be recovered. This is the most defensible, audit-proof method available, and we issue a certificate of destruction for your records. Software wiping is offered only as a secondary option when devices are being remarketed.

Question 9

What areas do you serve for electronics recycling?

Accepted Answer

We serve Corona, CA and the entire Southern California region including Riverside, Norco, Eastvale, Ontario, Anaheim, Rancho Cucamonga, Chino Hills, Fontana, and Moreno Valley. Contact us if you're unsure whether we serve your area.

Question 10

Do you handle business and commercial e-waste recycling?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we specialize in business electronics recycling for offices, IT departments, schools, medical facilities, and more. We offer scheduled bulk pickups, compliance documentation, and data destruction certificates throughout Southern California.

Question 11

Do you pay rebates for large volumes of business electronics?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Businesses with more than two pallets of electronic recycling material qualify for rebates. The rebate amount depends on the volume and type of equipment collected — computers, servers, monitors, and networking gear typically carry the highest value. Free on-site pickup, certified physical data destruction, and zero-landfill documentation are still included. Call (714) 306-3609 or request a business pickup to get a rebate estimate.

Question 12

Is electronics recycling required by law in California?

Accepted Answer

California has strict e-waste disposal regulations. It is illegal to dispose of many types of electronics in regular trash. Our recycling services help you stay compliant with all state and federal e-waste regulations.

Question 13

What happens to my electronics after you pick them up?

Accepted Answer

All items are sorted, tested, and processed at our facility. Reusable components are refurbished, and remaining materials are broken down and recycled through certified downstream partners. We maintain a zero-landfill policy.

Question 14

How do I recycle old computers and hard drives securely?

Accepted Answer

We provide secure computer recycling with physical hard drive destruction as our standard data destruction method — drives are physically shredded so data is unrecoverable. You'll receive a certificate of destruction for your records. Schedule a free pickup in Corona, CA.
